Don't Let the Details Fool You, 2.1.16

I always like to study the cose-up photos of the beautiful pieces of china, crystal, silver, etc., that are displayed in blog posts each week.  There has been more than one of those  close-ups that has inspired me to add a certain pattern to my collection!

We see delicious place setting ideas and new ways to display our linens...

...and beautiful crystal always elicits an ooh and an aah from me!

Who knew that there could ever be such a plethora of delightful flatware...

...and how about the nearly endless ideas for wonderful centerpieces?  But don't let the details fool you...

They could just mean that I totally forgot to take pictures of my tablescape until after the luncheon was over and most of the the dishes had been removed to the kitchen.  Whew!  Thank heavens for those little details.  :-)

This week I'm joining:

  5. Hello Cherry Kay,

I love your close ups. Bloggers love to see all the details. Especially when it comes to table settings. I for one, love to see the detail on the flatware, vintage china and stemware.

Yours are one of my favorites to look at. Always elegant and full of exquisite pieces.

    So glad you are back.

  7. How I love your red and white china and table. I have been trying for ages to get hold of some coloured glasses, but in Norway these are crazy expensive! If you are lucky enough to even find some when your're at the antique shops.
Love your close ups as weel, and look very much forward to following your posts. And I might even try to copy one or two of your table settings.
Winter regards from chilly Norway, Kjersti

  8. Thank you for the realistic photo. I had a function at my house this week and before we could get the food on the table people were making pictures. I cringed that the empty dish would stick out and it showed up on Facebook! It is hard to entertain, enjoy your guests and make blog worthy pics! You can tell that if you view my recent post. The pics were quickly snapped.

I share your love of dishes. You have very elegant ones. I especially adore your cranberry cut glass goblets (I'm not sure that is the correct term) and if my memory is right you have some cobalt and emerald colored goblets too.

I'm glad to see a post from you. Are you healed after your surgery? Between your husband's surgery and yours you have had a time!

  9. Found your blog through Pondside. So pleased to see the transferware pieces. Recently found four cups and saucers similar to these in green, just waiting for spring tea and cake. Your close ups are wonderful and your inspiration!! Thank you.

  11. While searching Meissen figurines on the net I somehow ended up on your blog and the rest of my evening has been all about your table settings and beautiful pictures. I've never seen so beautiful table settings before in my whole life. Very elegant and creative!
Hope you will have the time and strength to have many more meetings with your Garden friends and arrange more gorgeous luncheons and that you will share them here on your Blog.
Your Blog was a very nice encounter and a nice way to spend an evening admiring your beautiful porcelain and beautiful decorations.
    God bless and take care

  12. You are right, reading all the beautiful blogs with gorgeous dishes certainly makes one want to add to the collection. Those red dishes are wonderful! Yeah taking pictures of actual dinners/luncheons is sometimes the last thing on the list. Gladly you recreated one place setting for us to see how gorgeous the table was. I know your friends had a fabulous time.. hugs and love Marlis

  13. Hello CK,

Warm reds + wicker chargers + striped tablecloth + homespun dinnerware = PICNIC!!!! (inside of course). Really a different take on the usual picnic colors. Love it. Regards, Robin
