"First things first...We are truly blessed to have the means to set a pretty table and invite our friends to join us for good food and fellowship. I am mindful that many are not so fortunate. My daughter has a passion for the work of the Food Bank. As a singer-songwriter, she has written and recorded a song that is the anthem for the world wide Crop Hunger Walk project. Her song, "Raise Your Voice" is featured in their video. I've included a link in the side margin of my blog. During this beautiful season when we celebrate harvest and Thanksgiving, I hope that it will encourage you to support projects in your community that contribute to the effort to overcome hunger.
NOTE: KC is currently touring on the East Coast until a few days before Thanksgiving. Check out her website http://www.kcclifford.com/ to see if she's playing near you. I'd love for you to hear her in concert. I think that you would be pleased.
Wednesday, November 2, was the date for this year's Theta Flaming Festival. Once again, my Haviland Group was asked to design the centerpiece for the festival's tea table. As always, we had a marvelous time. Rather than inundate you with all the tables, I'll share a few at a time over the next few weeks. Today...the tea table...mostly pictures...few comments.
My friend Marsha and I ran across the bird house at an estate sale. It normally sits as a beautiful accessory in her home.
We were blessed to have New Leaf Florist assist us with the landscaping. They are an amazingly talented group.
The birdbath was made with a berry bowl adhered to an inverted demitasse cup.
For stepping stones on the front path, we turned butter pats upside down to make the Haviland marks visible.
The urns flanking the front door were made using two demitasse cups for each.
I hope that you enjoyed our "house tour". Now, enjoy some delicious cookies and a cup of hot tea.
Thank you, yet again, to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting her magical meme, Tablescape Thursday. I'll be linking my post to "TABLESCAPE THURSDAY." Hop on over and check out the myriad of marvelous tablescape designs, after 9:00 pm on Wednesdays. You'll be glad that you made the trip...it's a wonderful adventure.
Autumn and the first week of November always means that it's time for the Theta Flaming Festival. It's one of my favorite events each Fall. I'm participating this week in The Tablescaper's SEASONAL SUNDAYS; Click here to link to all the wonderful bloggers who'll be participating. Thanks to the Tablescaper for hosting us each week!

ReplyDeleteCherry Kay, this is just the cutest, most creative thing I've seen in a long time!! I just love this birdhouse and landscaping. Amazing! I think the "stepping stones, bird bath, and flower urns" are just precious. :) How did you attach all the dishes to the roof of the birdhouse? Honestly, I looked at this post two or three times. And the plants and flowers really are so detailed. I bet this was a fun festival. Thanks so much for sharing.
