Several weeks ago I was blessed to gather a few close friends around the games table in the living room for an easy going luncheon. I call it one of my dine and dash renditions because I think we all have those times when everyone is running in a thousand different directions. Still, it's nice to stop for even a short respite to have a bite to eat and spend some time, however brief, with your favorite people. This was one of those days. Lunch consisted of chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, and broccoli salad, all served on the kitchen counter from their refrigerator storage containers. Regardless, it was a precious time filled with cherished moments, and sometimes that's the most we can ask. We're about to grab our plates and head into the kitchen. I'll grab another place setting just for you, so please, you're invited to come on in and join us at the table. I hope you're plenty hungry!!
The centerpiece consisted of one of my favorite jardinieres and flowers left over from a luncheon earlier in the week. Centerpiece...check. As so often happens, I was in the mood for something blue and white...
The Williams-Sonoma Sofia dinner plate perched happily on my Anna Weatherly cobalt charger.
The Williams Sonoma Sofia Boat luncheon/salad plate was made available for anyone who cared for dessert...today it was a yummy slice of coconut cake.
Many of you are no stranger to my Pier One pearlized pink goblets. Today they were the perfect choice for Nana's pink and white Madeira placemat and napkin. The L'Argent Sofia cobalt flatware (no relation to the dinnerware) completed the place setting.
And especially short and sweet for me, that's the complete setting for today. But wait! You didn't really think that I was going to fade away that quickly, now did you? Come on now! So here's the deal...On July, 7, 2018, I'll celebrate my 8th Blogiversary! It doesn't seem possible! I published my first post on July 7, 2010. I've so enjoyed sharing my tablescapes with you, and have come to think of many of you as dear friends. You need to know that I'm serious each time I invite you to come sit at my table. Because it is my blogiversary, I want to celebrate with you by announcing an Entertaining Women give-away!! During the week of July 7, 2018, I'll announce the winner of a set of 12 Williams Sonoma Sofia dinner and luncheon/salad plates, as seen in this week's post. Everyone who leaves a comment on my posts between now and July 7, 2018, will be entered to win the set of dinnerware. If you want to earn additional opportunities to win the set of Sofia, you could also take a stroll back through my archives and leave a comment each time you visit an older post. I hope that I'll be hearing from you!
This week I'm joining:
Your table turned out beautiful! Love the pretty flowers and of course the WS dishes. Your lady friends are really treated to some beautiful tablescapes when visiting. Your giveaway is extremely generous!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous table! I love the blue and white. I started following your blog in 2011 when I found that we had the same silver pattern (Grande Renaissance). Thank you for eight years of beautiful inspirations!
ReplyDeleteAs I was reading your post I realized that I have no blue dishes! So, Count me in! As always your table is so inviting and your friends must love coming to visit!!
ReplyDeleteHaving been the recipient of one of your special luncheons, I know how special they really are. No one sets a table like you do Cherry Kay. In all honesty, if you lived in Washington DC you would be working at the White House setting the table for all the State dinners and be introduced to the dignitaries by each President for whom you were employed. Instead of politics being discussed it would be the elegance and grace of the table. But I know the secret to that; it is the love and prayer you put into each gathering. They may be your favorite dishes but they are always displayed for the enjoyment of others.
ReplyDeleteWell, this table may be quickly set, but it has your signature classy details from start to finish. The WS dinner ware is exquisite, and the Anna Weatherly charges are taking my breath away.
ReplyDeleteCherry Kay, you are the most generous person! I can't begin to tell you how frequently I reach for my Sacred Bird and Butterfly plates. In fact, I shared them in my look back on my post for Susan's 500th Tablescape Celebration. As much as I would be thrilled to have these gorgeous plates to add to the cupboard, I've obviously already been a lucky winner of one of your generous giveaways. I'll spread the word though. I love our little community of blogger friendships. Congratulations on 8 years. I started my blog about the same time....2009.
You always a set a table to impress. Love your style, dishware and your skills Cherry Kay.
ReplyDeleteI am very short on blue dishes for some reason, go figure. The blue and white is absolutely gorgeous and timeless. What a generous giveaway Cherry Kay. I had to come visit after returning from traveling. Congrats on 8 years of wonderful blogging. Have a fabulous weekend.
I look in almost every day because it is exciting to see what comes up next. I admire your care about your guests; making them feel good in your home and giving them good food as well as a memory for life. You are using your talent well.
ReplyDeleteTake care
Ida
Congratulations, Cherry Kay, on your Blog Anniversary. Eight years of grace and beauty on my screen. I have enjoyed every one of your posts. Today's table is, as always, just lovely. Your friends must have enjoyed the opportunity to pause in such a beautiful setting. Blue and white are always right!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love the thought of the plates, and as much as they would suit me, I will step back from this generous anniversary contest. Mailing across the border is just too, too dear!
Congratulations on your Eight Blogging Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteLovely table with the blue and white Sofia paired with the pinks!
Congrats on your 8th year anniversary. Blue is my favorite color and I love the Williams Sonoma plates. It would be great to have my table look like yours!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your eighth anniversary of sharing your beautiful tables. Thank you for your blog.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your anniversary. Enjoy your beautiful tablescapes.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your anniversary. Your tablescapes are inspiring!!
ReplyDeleteI have to say thanks. I was planning on binge watching some TV today and chill, but now....I am feeling inspired to do a nice tablescape. Thanks! Congrats on your anniversary :-)
ReplyDeleteUgh! I am STILL not getting email announcements of your posts! Stumbled onto this one today when I received a comment from you on my last post. Aaaarrrggggghhhhh!!! Technology!!! I'm going to try to unsubscribe and resubscribe again to see if that works. It does say that I'm subscribed. Hmmm....anyhooo....Blue & white the classic favorite FOREVER!!! I really think that if we were to come back to earth 200 years from now (if there IS an earth 200 years from now!) that we would find blue & white to STILL be a classic dining setting. There's just nothing that beats it as far as I'm concerned!!! I have a penchant for it now and always will! If I should win your giveaway, I think I would use the dishes for the 1st time as a part of a very special 90th birthday celebration for my Mom in 2019. I've never done blue & white as the theme for her. (She hates, but secretly loves, it when I do pink & green which is her rival sorority's colors!) Mixing and matching the Williams Sonoma plates with my Ralph Laurens would be fabulous!!!!!!! Get you party dress ready and prepare to celebrate that 8th Blogaversary! (I think you and I started right around the same time.)
ReplyDeleteCherry Kay, it wouldn’t matter if you had China Town to draw from or not, your eye is impeccable. The blue & white w pink & yellow florals makes both pop!
ReplyDeleteSee you at the next MS gig!
Beautiful table!!! I can leave a comment on all of the other posts because I regularly refer to them for tablesetting ideas!! Thank you for a chance to win this lovely blogaversary gift!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
J
You always set lovely tables and seem to have so many beautiful things to draw from. The blue and white Williams Sonoma plates are gorgeous. Until I saw this, I would have never thought to match them with a pale pink.
ReplyDeleteI’ve stumbled upon your blog during an internet search for table settings inspiration. Love your flair and sense of style! You are a treasure trove of inspiration!
